ST. ANDREW’S SINGLES (SAS)

A team of people from St. Andrew's have begun planning our new Singles' Ministry efforts. The singles' ministry will be known as St. Andrew's Singles (SAS). They've laid out some events for singles at church to join in. There will also be a survey on-line soon looking for ideas and suggestions. The team has come up with the following Statement of Purpose:
“Empowering single adults to become closer to Christ through a ministry of spirituality, compassionate fellowship, and fun.”
There will be a table in the rotunda with new information about SAS upcoming events, study opportunities and other information of interest to singles. Stop by. Enjoy a cup of coffee and the fellowship between services. Sign up to receive e-mail updates of singles' activities at and more. Again, if you'd like to attend the service with the others from SAS, please join in. There is also a Singles link on the St. Andrew's webpage, be watching for announcements of events for a growing number of people in our church family. Finally, if you are single, divorced, or widowed and would like to join the team leading this ministry effort contact Dawn H. or Mark S. You can also contact Diana Faust in the church office.

BREAKING BREAD provides meals to those within our congregation who are experiencing hardships or life changes such as a new baby, surgery, illness, or death in the family. There are two ways to become involved with this ministry. The first is to become a team member, with each member coordinating meals for one month out of the year. The second area of service in this ministry is to be a volunteer cook (or take-out deliverer)! You provide a meal only when it fits into your schedule, as needs arise. Please take one of our brochures from the information stand in the Rotunda. If you have any questions, please contact Janet K.

Mark 9:2-9

Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain apart, by themselves. And he was transfigured before them, and his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Then Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here; let us make three dwellings, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.” He did not know what to say, for they were terrified. Then a cloud overshadowed them, and from the cloud there came a voice, “This my Son, the Beloved; listen to him!” Suddenly when they looked around, they saw no one with them any more, but only Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, he ordered them to tell no one what they had seen, until after the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
