Double Header

This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Sundays of the year. In the morning services (8:00, 9:15 & 10:45), I’m preaching from Luke 15, “PARABLES OF THE LOST” (The Waterloo Sermon). Then we’ll be back together at 7:00 for The Worship Celebration of St. Andrew’s, Nicaragua. The original idea for this evening service was to have a mission-themed concert and while the plan has evolved, we’ve retained a music component that I think you’ll like a lot. Yes, child care is available. I hope you’ll consider making Sunday a St. Andrew’s morning/evening double-header. I believe you’ll be glad you did. I'LL be glad you did!

FROM TRUDY M.: The American Red Cross’ type O negative blood supply has reached dangerously low levels.

O negative blood is very important in the treatment of patients and the Red Cross needs individuals with O negative blood to make an appointment to donate in the coming days. O negative blood can potentially be transfused to any patient regardless of their blood type.

O negative blood type is rare. Only 7 percent of the population has O negative blood.

O negative blood is often used to treat trauma patients in serious need of blood because it can be transfused without knowing the recipients blood type. This saves the doctors time and allows them to treat the patient immediately.

Blood is perishable so the stock must be replenished regularly through volunteer donation.

Donors need to be at least 17 years of age (16 in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health to donate. Eligible donors should call 1.800.GIVE.LIFE or go online to givebloodgivelife.org for more information and to make a blood donation appointment.

Luke 15:8-19, “Or what woman having ten silver coins, if she loses one of them, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
